Ships of the Desert
In 1983 camels loaded with 350 kilo packs each journeyed
447 kilometers in 16 days of hot weather and then after a day of
rest travelled 240 kilometers more, all without water.
They can travel 150 kilometers in squelching heat in 15 - 20 hours.
A Record speed in Australia was 144 kilometers in 10 hours.
